I am a
local artist living in Newmarket for over 20 years.
always admired those who could paint and bring life to an otherwise blank
canvas. Especially those famous artists of the Italian Renaissance. I
had the mindset that one day when I retired from work I would learn
how to paint.
1999, when an accident put me permanently into a wheelchair, I thought that
dream to one day learn how to paint was over.
while at a mall I saw an artist painting a portrait. I mentioned to him
how I once had a dream of learning to paint. He didn't understand why I could
no longer paint while in my wheelchair and proceeded to show me a laptop easel.
Once we had it set up on my lap I realized that I could paint after all. That
was 5 years ago and I have been painting ever since.
enjoy painting in oils using traditional methods and styles from portraiture,
landscape, still life and now even learning all about plein-air.
